Wood Treatment
The process of wood treatment for hardwood is quite extensive which requires constant supervision by our team of specialist. We have years of experience of treating timber with the Chromated copper arsenate ("CCA") treatment in which the durability of timber is enhanced tremendously. CCA is a group of pesticides containing chromium, copper, and/or arsenic that protect wood against termites, fungi and other pests that can degrade or threaten the integrity of wood products. During the treatment process the three active ingredients are pressure treated to the wood. Each has a function to perform: Copper is the fungicide to prevent rot, Arsenic is the insecticide to prevent insect attack and Chrome fixes them both to the timber in a chemical reaction. When the treatment process is over and the timber is dry the fixation is permanent thus keeping the chemicals from washing out. The long term effectiveness of CCA has been established throughout the world.
